A complete transformation of a 1989 home in Mountain High. Featuring quartz countertops, custom cabinetry, engineered hardwood, and spa-like bathrooms.
The Edelweiss project showcases a complete interior transformation of a 1989 home nestled in the stunning gated Mountain High community. This project was all about breathing new life into an outdated space while keeping the character of the home intact. Working with a dated layout, Chris and Jennifer Nelson, the owners of Surface Kitchen and Bath (a division of Nelson Tile and Stone), reimagined every corner to enhance the home's functionality and aesthetic appeal.
The upgraded finishes throughout include a stone surround fireplace, gourmet kitchen with thick, marble-like quartz counters, custom cabinetry, beautiful engineered hardwood and brand new kitchen appliances for a chef-level experience. Both bathrooms exude a spa-like ambiance that is flooded with natural light. Two walk-in, tile showers and a high-end freestanding tub in the primary are stunning additions.
The kitchen, the heart of the home, was restructured to optimize space and modernize the overall feel. What was once a closed-off and dimly lit area now stands as a bright, open, and inviting space perfect for both everyday living and entertaining. Clean lines, neutral tones, and a seamless blend of textures helped create a warm and modern ambiance. The updated design focused on maximizing storage and improving workflow, allowing for a more intuitive use of space.
In the bathrooms, the transformation was equally impactful. Outdated fixtures and finishes were replaced with sleek, modern design elements that turned the master and guest bathrooms into personal retreats. A minimalist approach paired with a soothing, neutral palette brought a sense of calm to these spaces, with careful attention to lighting and texture to elevate the design further.
